The Strategic Solutions Consultant (SSC) is a business development role responsible for driving mind share and market share within the A+D Community by cultivating strategic relationships with firms and with individuals.

The SSC will work closely with the A+D Community and the OfficeScapes Leadership, Business Development, and Sales teams to ensure a coordinated, strategic approach in the marketplace and in the positioning of our company, our brands/product offering, our services, and our Design solutions.


  • Develop and implement annual plan to include account strategies and relationship management aimed at increasing mind share and market share in the A+D community, including:
    • Co-Ownership of Steelcase targeted firms
    • Key Account Plan for Strategic Dealer-Led A+D Design firms
    • Measuring effectiveness of efforts through A+D surveys and executive summary reviews
    • Creating value and building credibility through insightful presentations (Power of Place, Wellbeing, and others, as well as mastery of all Steelcase and OfficeScapes initiatives on an on-going basis)
    • Implementing A+D targeted outbound marketing plan
  • Ensure compliance of A+D related Platinum Partners requirements, including preparation and documentation of A+D Platinum Partners submittals
  • Identify project activity at the design firm level early in the design process
  • Communicate project activity in team strategy sessions to ensure appropriate design firm involvement
  • Drive product specifications through A&D firms and manage until the order is secured
  • Foster effective peer relationships across the organization to advance the sales cycle collaboratively
  • Manage and direct customer experience for the Design Firm/Designer throughout project pursuit, implementation, and follow-through
  • Establish and maintain an accurate A+D list within the CRM system and ensure A+D connectivity to Opportunities in CRM
  • Serve as OfficeScapes/JCG ambassador in the marketplace and positively promote all OfficeScapes products and services through active participation in relevant industry and vertical market trade organizations (IIDA, ASID, ) and events
  • Achieve and or exceed KPI goals on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Support NBD sales efforts and key audience initiatives, collaborate as needed to offer strategic design support on mock-ups and pilot programs


  • Experienced business development/sales professional who is accomplished in setting and achieving goals in a collaborative selling environment
  • The SSC is a highly engaged, ambitious, creative, solutions-focused team player, capable of self- management
  • Proven track record of driving sales results through the A+D community
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent relationship-building capabilities
  • Persuasive, with strong negotiation skills to positively influence myriad customer types
  • CRM contact management software
  • Confident and professional approach to building innovative business cases/presentations and presenting to senior level audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing or related field
  • Design firm experience highly preferred
  • Flexibility to host/attend after hours events
  • Proficiency in standard office applications and possibly key design programs: Excel, Power Point, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, CRM (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
